We had to say a sad and premature farewell to our two APO volunteers who had to leave Thailand early because of Covid 19. Paul and Chrissy stayed for 5 months instead of their originally planned 8 months. They were well loved by all the kids and are sorely missed. We wish them well in all future endeavours and hope to see them both again some day. Mostly though, we would like to thank them for all their hard work here and the love and kindness that they showed the children.
Leon and Henriette Castermans from Stichting Vrienden van Sarnelli in The Netherlands came for their twice yearly visit. They were accompanied on this trip by new board member of their foundation, Leonne Wassen and Leon’s brother Hugo and stayed for 2 weeks. Leonne and Hugo were introduced to all the projects, houses and children and we welcome their involvement. Leon and Henriette made their usual fun and generous contribution to life at Sarnelli House, with swimming, sewing, French fries and other entertainments. The group also checked on some of the projects they support, including the new garden at the 12 rai.
Karen Miles from the UK came to spend time with Fr. Shea and attempt to write some of his life story. Undotunately, Covid 19 cut short her visit and Karen had to return home.
Debbie Willis from the UK came for her twice a year visit but unfortunately Covid intervened and she went home without seeing any children.
We know that both Debbie and Karen will be back once this crisis has passed.
