July 2019 visitors

July had introductions to first time guests, reacquainting with returning friends and farewells to long term volunteers.

Sarnelli’s Angels from Singapore and Bangkok came for their third trip and did a wonderful job continuing to paint and freshen up our House of Hope nursery “one room at a time”. Despite the humidity, they managed to accomplish what they came for, and even finished lovely cartoon designs on the walls. Thank you for your time and generosity and to all those who also donated goods for the children.

Fr. Paul and Fr. Dominic CSsR from The Mother of Perpetual Help Parish, Garland, Texas made their first visit with five lovely parishioners including Tina, Moon and Leanne. It was a whirlwind mission trip but they packed a huge amount into a short weekend. They bought with them donations from their parish, including clothes and toys and sweets so that every child received something. They planted rice, made balloon animals, made a piñata for the kids to smash to bits and gave education on dental hygiene - all in 2 days! Thank you for your generosity and amazing enthusiasm.

In July we also said goodbye to our three volunteers from APO, Germany. Hannah was here for a full year and Laura and Wiebke were here for 8 months. All three of them were loved by the children and we were so sad to see them go. But we wish them happiness and strength for their future adventures and years ahead. They are three fine young women who contributed a huge amount to the children’s lives. We hope to see them again as they will not be forgotten.
