I want to apologize for being so tardy with the newsletter, but I came down with a bad case of food poisoning that led to five days in the hospital. For a while I was so sick that I thought I’d die, then was afraid I wouldn’t. I also got hurt in the gym by lifting more than my old body (87, pushing 88 years of age) should not have tried. Then, after more tests, they found water in my right lung, a reminder of the joys of Covid days. In a few days, I go back for more tests. Old age is such an adventure, I can hardly wait for more medical surprises.
The children are home now for a two-month school break. The boys have been moved from Sarnelli to Nazareth since Sarnelli is undergoing many improvements, from a new septic tank to new bathrooms and garages and a new laundry room among other improvements. We were lucky that Nazareth was empty this year, since most of our older girls have gone on to higher studies.

We have another crew busy painting the officer and rooms above. Everything and every place look quite grim right now, but we hope it all comes together nicely.
We still have some little folks struggling to regain their health. They didn’t have much to start out with, and to see them strapped to their wheelchairs, watching the healthier kids run and play, is quite heart rending.
We have reluctantly said goodbye to the cold season and stand by helplessly as the hot season appears. Yesterday the temp hit 95 F, and the forecast predicts close to 120 degrees F later in the summer.
In conclusion, we continue to pray for you all, especially during this period of Lent.
God bless you all.
