Stichting Vrienden van Sarnelli, a Dutch charity, has been a generous supporter of Sarnelli House for almost 20 years. Led by Leon and Henriette Castermans, they have been remarkably good to Fr. Mike and the children and staff. Leon and Henriette have spread their kindness far and wide, to the benefit of the clinic, the farm, the pool, the 12 rai, Our Lady of Refuge House and now, the new house for the disabled. They have helped with solar cells, water pumps, computers, and water filters, touching every part of Sarnelli House. They also make great French fries for all the children on every visit!
This year, Leon and Henriette helped us to purchase a special van for the children living with physical disabilities. This new van has been adapted with a wheelchair hoist and space inside for the children’s chairs and their carers. The van will be used for the children’s regular hospital appointments, as well as trips to the pool for aqua therapy. The hoist was fitted by a company just outside Bangkok and was overseen by Fr. Ole.
It was great to have Leon and Henriette here for the blessing of the van by Fr. Mike. We are enormously grateful to them and their foundation for their continued support.
