Fr. Leo Travis C.Ss.R came for a visit from Bangkok with his brother and friend from the USA in September. Fr Travis lives and works at Ruam Rudee International School in Bangkok, a school run by the Redemptorist Fathers of Thailand. He has been in Thailand for 61 years and was instrumental in helping Fr Mike start up Sarnelli House. In the very early days he raised enough money for Fr Mike to build Sarnelli House in the village of Don Wai, which was to house the children living with HIV. Without Fr Travis’s help, Fr Mike would not have been able to shelter and save the lives of the children given to him. Fr Travis was delighted to meet the children and concelebrated mass in the children’s chapel on Saturday morning. Despite being deaf and a little bit unsteady on his feet, he continues his ministry with great enthusiasm and the children and staff were happy to see him again.
